Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes the promise of renewal and growth for our beautiful city of Mount Clemens. As the days grow warmer, I encourage everyone to get outside and enjoy the wonderful resources our city has to offer. Whether it’s a stroll through one of our parks, or a paddle on the Clinton River from our kayak rental locations in Shadyside Park and MacArthur Park, spring is the perfect time to reconnect with nature and our community.
This spring also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Mount Clemens. In
early April, we will officially kick off the Downtown Revitalization Project. This ambitious effort will breathe new life into our downtown, improving infrastructure, enhancing public spaces, and making our city even more welcoming for residents and visitors alike. While construction may bring temporary inconveniences, I cannot stress enough the importance of supporting our local businesses during this time. These establishments are the backbone of our community, and your continued patronage will ensure they thrive through the transition.
Meanwhile, the city commission has a busy season ahead. We will be attending the Michigan Municipal League’s annual CapCon conference in Lansing, where we’ll discuss key issues affecting municipalities across the state and bring back valuable insights for our community. Additionally, we’ll be rolling up our sleeves to work on the 2025 city budget, ensuring that we allocate resources thoughtfully and responsibly to serve our residents’ needs.
As we step into this season of growth and progress, I invite each of you to take part in shaping our city’s bright future. Your engagement, enthusiasm, and support make all the difference. As always, if I can ever be of assistance, please reach out to me at Lkropp@mountclemens.gov or 586-469-6800, ext. 313.
Here’s to a vibrant spring and an even brighter tomorrow for Mount Clemens!
