In 2024, Susie Q’s Kids piloted their Love in a Bag Program with the Macomb and Oakland County Sheriff’s Departments. A recent notice from Julie Junaj from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Dept. stated: “What you do is making a huge difference Thank you for all you do! “
Officer Korte shared this incident: “On November 7, 2024, a male and his family (mother and two young kids) were lost driving around trying to get to a motel in Warren. … We dispatched for EMS and the male was transported to the hospital (for assistance). The two young kids were each given a Susie Q bag and the mother was informed of what was in each of them. To help console the kids more, the blanket was taken out of the bag and the little girl that was in the car seat was covered with the blanket. This helped the kids calm themselves and get their minds occupied with other things in the bag rather than focusing on what had just happened and taken place.” To donate visit the Susie Q’s Kids website, your donations will help us continue this program.
